Rancho Guejito is in the news again. ECEC is participating in a task force to work with policymakers, State and County agencies, and other conservation organizations to ensure the Guejito's permanent preservation as an open space preserve.

ECEC is teaming up with several local organizations to preserve the historic orange grove at Mountain View Park. 
 
We plan to expand our educational mission using this agricultural icon to demonstrate the history of Escondido.

Mission Statement

"The goal of the Escondido Citizens' Ecology Committee is to promote awareness of our local environment, to educate the people of Escondido about local environmental issues, and to advocate for the acquisition and protection of native habitats."

Coastal Sage Scrub woodland is the most endangered ecosystem on Earth. ECEC strives to preserve this ecosystem through advocacy, education, and land acquisition.

Historic Downtown Escondido

The Escondido Citizens' Ecology Committee has co-sponsored educational tours through historic downtown Escondido since 1992.
